• Instructions for loading X-Com 1 from CD to your Hard Drive
• Note: This is for the original US Release of X-Com. This does not apply to the limited edition X-Com that comes with X:Apoc, the version in the "Conquer the Galaxy" Microprose collection, or the version in the X-Com Collector's Edition.
• You will need to do this to patch X-Com to version 1.4 and fix the many bugs, so listen up. Make a directory for X-Com on your harddrive. Lets say its C:\XCOM. Go into the directory. Type "XCOPY /E D:\*.* C:\XCOM". This will copy the CD to your harddrive. This takes up about 10 megs. Then download the patch. PKUNZIP it to the xcom directory. Make sure to use the "-D" command or it won't work. Overwrite all files. Run the setup, then run NEWXCOM.BAT. Congratulations, X-Com is on your Harddrive!
